Has anyone ever told you you’re a great conversationalist? That you’re great at listening as well as talking? That you can create conversations sometimes out of very little?
Then SOS could have the perfect voluntary role for you!
Our new service, which will open later in 2022, is currently recruiting for non-employed, unpaid phone volunteers to talk to people who are lonely, alone, and/or isolated. This service will not require you to deal with any emergencies or mental health concerns. It is, quite simply, a chat between two people.
Your training will consist of conversational development and the ways we can use, and improve, our voices and will also cover some of our safeguarding procedures
You’ll need to be available between 8pm and midnight on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for this particular role. We welcome applications from anyone aged 16 and above.
Working as part of a small but dynamic and dedicated team, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and develop skillsets which will be transferrable throughout your life.
Training will be online only and you will volunteer from the comfort of your own home.
