Mental Health Awareness Week 2022

May 9 @ 12:00 am - May 15 @ 11:30 pm

Mental Health Awareness Week 2022

Calendar date for information only.

Running between 9th and 15th May 2022, the official theme for mental health awareness week this year is loneliness.

Many of us have experienced loneliness at some point and never more so than during the pandemic, when isolation forced many of us to be away from our loved ones for extended periods of time.  For those who live alone, the last 2 years have been particularly challenging.

With restrictions generally eased, now is the time we can all reach out to others and help eradicate the feelings of loneliness that have enveloped some.  It’s also a great time for those whose mental health deteriorated during the pandemic and lockdown to think about re-connecting and venturing out again.

There is so much we can all do to help tackle poor emotional health – starting conversations, spreading awareness, giving kindness, encouraging compassion and giving time to those who need support.  How many conversations could you start during this week?  How much kindness could you show?

If you’d like to volunteer your time to help SOS continue supporting those in need, please click HERE to find out more.

SOS will be engaging with our local and wider communities during this important week in the mental health calendar.  Check out our events page for details of what we will be doing.
