Erica Scott SOS advocate for volunteering, is an outstanding member of our team and supporter of our work and aims, supporting the charity at every available opportunity.
We are delighted that existing volunteer Erica, accepted our advocate for volunteering role and know she will throw every ounce of passion into it.
Erica joined as a telephone volunteer in January 2021 and continues to offer support in that way, as well as having an active role in supporting the team of volunteers. Erica currently assists with volunteer’s wellbeing, monitoring to ensure everyone is mentally well. She also supports SOS at external events, such as community visits
“I’m passionate about mental health, both personally and professionally, and strongly believe in the power of talking.
I’m eager to contribute to eradicating the shame and stigma surrounding suicide, and feel strongly that support should be accessible to all, regardless of someone’s background or current situation.
I’m keen to encourage and raise awareness of good, positive mental health and well-being for both the service users and the amazing team of volunteers.
We can all face challenges and feel overwhelmed in this day and age, and I’m an avid supporter of reaching out and promoting the strength and positivity of asking for help.
The SOS family and their values are inspiring, and I’m committed to playing my part with this incredible charity.”
