ONS Anxiety and Depression Figures
Today, figures have been released by the ONS which show the impact of Covid19 on mental wellbeing.
According to them, in November this year, depression and anxiety were experienced in some form by adults. The rates of 19% for depression and 17% for anxiety were similar to June 2020 levels. The rates of depression were almost double pre-pandemic levels, which stood at 10%.
The data was obtained from GPs and health practitioners.
The responses do not represent clinical diagnosis of anxiety or depression, but are self reported through means such as online surveys or telephone call surveys. This research shows that in Great Britain, 1 in 5 people have suffered from some form of depression.
