A Decade On: Remembering Anna Mansfield and the Ongoing Fight to Break Suicide Silence

A Decade On: Remembering Anna Mansfield and the Ongoing Fight to Break Suicide Silence

Today marks ten years since the devastating loss of Anna Mansfield, a cherished daughter, a devoted mother, and a deeply loved woman whose life was cut tragically short by suicide.

Anna was more than the circumstances of her passing. She was a light to those who knew her, full of love, warmth, and quiet strength. Her death left a void that can never truly be filled, especially in the lives of her family, her friends, and most heartbreakingly, her children.

Anna’s passing became the catalyst for SOS Silence of Suicide, co-founded by her father, Michael Mansfield to confront the silence, stigma, and shame that still surrounds mental health and suicide. Her legacy lives on in every life we reach, every conversation we start, and every barrier we help to break down.

Ten years on, the pain remains. But so does the purpose. And today, on our second annual Day of Remembrance for Those Bereaved by Suicide at Warwick Castle, we remember Anna and all those we’ve lost with full hearts and unwavering commitment.

The elephant in the room still exists. But we will never stop addressing it — openly, honestly, and with empathy, because silence costs lives. And we owe it to Anna and to every family who knows this pain to speak up and fight for change.

Anna, you are loved beyond words. Missed beyond measure. Remembered in everything we do.
