Did you know...

7,064 people died by suicide in the UK last year. This figure combines data from the Office of National Statistics for England and Wales, National Records of Scotland, and the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency.

Approximately 9% of the UK workforce struggles with thoughts of suicide, amounting to over 2 million people (Champion Health, 2023). These figures remind us of the urgent need for action. The Health and Safety Executive report that in 2023/24, the number of working days lost to stress, depression and/or anxiety were 21.1 days, equating to 16.4 million days, higher than general ill health days lost.

At SOS Silence of Suicide, we know that change happens when we come together. By becoming an SOS Partner, your organisation will be part of a compassionate community working to break down the stigma, silence and shame surrounding mental health and suicide. Together, we can create hope, offer support, and transform lives.

You choose how to help SOS and the people it looks after.

What Does It Mean to Be an SOS Partner?

Becoming an SOS Partner means joining a movement that cares deeply about the wellbeing of individuals and communities. As a partner, you’ll help us:

  • Raise Awareness: Spread the message that it’s okay to talk about mental health and ask for help.
  • Take Action: Support SOS in delivering vital initiatives like our Mobile Wellbeing Hubs, which bring care directly to those in need.

Why Partner with SOS?

  • Shared Values: Work alongside us to create a society where every voice is heard, and no one feels alone in their struggles.
  • Real Impact: Your involvement helps us deliver free support sessions, campaigns, and resources that help save lives.
  • Recognition and Visibility: Showcase your commitment to mental health by featuring your organisation in our campaigns, events, and materials.
  • Positive Contribution: Align your brand with a cause that prioritises people’s wellbeing and demonstrates meaningful social responsibility.

How Can You Get Involved?

There are many ways to make a difference as an SOS Partner, including:

  • Sponsoring Our Work: Help fund our vital support sessions, innovative campaigns, and services like the Mobile Wellbeing Hubs.
  • Signing Up for Our Paid Courses: Equip your team with practical skills and knowledge to promote mental health in your workplace. We offer accredited training in suicide prevention and awareness, burnout, menopause and chronic pain at work, plus e-versions, with more to follow in 2025. We teach your staff how to use body language and tone of voice skills to identify and engage with those who may be in need of help.
  • Choosing SOS Silence of Suicide as Your Charity of the Year: Make a lasting impact by putting mental health at the heart of your fundraising efforts.
  • Supporting a voluntary worker Scheme: Encourage your employees to voluntary worker with SOS, helping us provide hands-on support to those who need it most.

“The SOS mobile hubs have been an invaluable addition to our college's freshers' and wellbeing events. Their team has consistently engaged with our students and staff in meaningful conversations, creating a welcoming and safe space for students to learn about SOS's services or share their own experiences. We would welcome more frequent attendance and value the unique service of their approachable and professional team.”
