SOS Support Line
When Covid 19 caused its first lockdown in March 2020, the Trustees of SOS were hugely concerned about how we, as a Charity, could continue supporting vulnerable people in the absence of physical group meetings.
What Did We Do About This?
We received emails, text messages and online meeting messages asking for a support line to be implemented and in conjunction with our partners World Seniors Snooker, our line launched in August 2020.
Initially, we were open just 2 hours a day, but as demand grew and more volunteers were recruited, we now offer support between 4pm and midnight, 7 days a week.
Where Are We Now?
We have seen incredible growth in demand for our service, and this demand continues on a month by month basis. This is because of the SOS family of volunteers pulling together in their determination to support as many people as they possibly can.
Our return callers come back to us time and time again for two reasons – they like our service, but, more importantly, they trust our service.
What Do Our Stats Show?
Our call statistics demonstrate month by month growth of calls coming into our support line.
Remember, we are a micro charity.
Remember, we only started last August.
Remember, we do not have huge volunteer resources
